CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Bring along or book cross country skis and get info about cross country skiing possibilities in and around Chamonix. Season approx. from December until beginning of March. Depending on snow condition in the valley.
Chamonix Valley-Mont-Blanc has a 50 km Nordic skiing area laid out alternately for skiing and for skating, spread across Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine.
PAID ACCESS TO THE CHAMONIX-MONT-BLANC AND VALLORCINE SKI AREAS. FREE ACCESS TO THE LES HOUCHES AREA, EXCEPT FOR ACCESS TO THE HIGH ALTITUDE TRACKS. The cross-country ski tracks are in use from 9:00 to 17:00, on Vallorcine runs close to 16:30 until February vacation. Reserved for maintenance during closing hours. Cards and tickets are on sale at the Chamonix, Vallorcines Cross-country ski offices and the Les Houches Tourist Office. A ski piste is a loop which should be followed in the direction of the arrows. The tracks are prepared for both skating and classic. For your own safety, do not use the tracks in the wrong direction. Dogs are not allowed on the cross country skiing tracks.

There is a charge to use the trails which are regularly patrolled. The passes and tickets are on sale at the cross-country ski lodges of Chamonix and at the tourist office of Argentière.

The ski trails are all one-way and skiers are asked to respect the signposts.
Pedestrians are allowed only on the yellow-marked trails, free access.

Dogs are allowed only on the pedestrian trails and in the multi-activity area.
